Cris Castro founded Oceanside Landscaping in 1999 with a truck, a mower, and the names of six neighbors who needed weekly yard help. Twenty-five years later, the business has grown into a full design, install and maintenance operation \u2014 but the approach hasn\u2019t changed.
Cris is still on the tools most weeks. He walks every new quote personally. He knows our crews by name, their families by name, and most of their clients by name. The license \u2014 California landscape contractor BL-79184 \u2014 carries his signature.
What we\u2019ve built around him is a small team of full-time employees (not a rotating roster of day-rate help) who\u2019ve been with the company for years, not months. The crew that installs your yard is usually the crew that will maintain it next season. That continuity is the whole point.

Started in Oceanside
Cris Castro launches Cris Castro Landscape Maintenance with a truck, a mower, and a small roster of Oceanside homeowners.
Irrigation division
Added full irrigation and drainage capability in-house after too many outside contractors doing it badly.
First HOA contracts
Took on the first multi-building HOA contract — an inflection point into commercial / community work.
Design-build expansion
Formalized the design-build arm. One team from concept sketch to finished yard.
Twenty-fifth year
Crossed twenty-five years of continuous local service with the owner still on the tools every week.
Still owner-led
Twenty-seven years in; Cris still walks every new quote and the crew that installs your yard is the crew that maintains it.
